This classroom action research (CAR) investigates the effectiveness of the Multiplication Snakes and Ladders game, implemented through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model, in enhancing students' mathematics learning outcomes on multiplication concepts. Conducted in two cycles based on the Kemmis & McTaggart framework, the study involved Grade 2B students at SD Al-Uswah 2 Surabaya during the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. Data were gathered via interviews, observations, documentation, and tests, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative methods.
The findings demonstrate a notable improvement in student achievement. In Cycle I, the percentage of students attaining mastery rose from 56% to 75%, with the average score increasing from 78.75 to 84.37. This growth was further sustained in Cycle II, where mastery reached 94% and the average score climbed to 92.87. These results affirm that integrating game-based learning with cooperative learning strategies can significantly enhance mathematical proficiency in early primary education.
